QUALIA=SONY?
| 3.06.2005
 A few months ago, I mentioned that Sony had opened a few select stores around the country under a different name. At the time, I couldn't remember the name, it's not easy to find, and they like it that way. Recently, after much searching, I found the name...it's QUALIA. I can only speak from a generation that has known Sony since the inception of the original Walkman. However, Sony was one of the first electronic companies to really be at the forefront of producing beautiful, functional and high quality radios, cameras and TVs-the ultimate expression of technology, craftsmanship and design. Granted, they are a household name and have lost much of their unique "boutique" edge to mass consumerism, but QUALIA is their experiment at bringing back a few select high-end products that appleal to a more sophisticated and wealthier audience.
There are only 3 stores in the country and visiting them is by appointment only. Once you purchase a product from QUALIA, a whole range of "concierge" type services open up to you including tickets to movies and advanced notice of new products. Check out the camera...it's beautiful!
